MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Rehearsals are held on Monday nights at First Presbyterian Church of Littleton. The church is located at 1609 Windermere at the corner of Littleton Blvd and Windermere. The Chamber Orchestra rehearses from 6:30 to 8:45. The Training Orchestra meets from 6:45 to 7:45. PREPARATION Students are expected to practice their orchestra and chamber ensemble music at home between rehearsals. In addition, students are encouraged to seek assistance from their private teachers. All Chamber Orchestra students will be seated by chair auditions at the second rehearsal. PERFORMANCES Chamber Orchestra and Training Orchestra concert series performances are held in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church of Littleton. Concerts begin at 7:30 pm on Monday nights. Pre-concert warm up for all students begins at 7:00 on concert nights. In addition, the LYS performs a side by side concert each season with the Mercury Ensemble. Concert venue TBA.We also schedule at least four outreach performances for our community and two Sunday collaborative concerts with our host, First Presbyterian Church of Littleton. Dates and locations TBA. AUDITIONS Auditions for the next season are held each May and September. Interested students should submit an audition application 2 weeks prior to the audition date with a $10 application fee. They will be contacted with an audition time. Please prepare a short solo piece and a scale of your choice. You will be asked to sight read. Current students are also asked to re-audition with no application fee.
Please arrive 10 minutes before your rehearsal time and be in your seat with instrument, music and pencil ready to tune before the rehearsal start time. Give your full attention and respect to the conductor and chamber music coaches. We request that students do not have food, drinks, gum or candy during rehearsals or performances.
Students are expected to attend all rehearsals and performances. Students are allowed one excused absence for a rehearsal other than the dress rehearsal during each concert set. Attendance at dress rehearsals is mandatory. Any unexcused absences will result in the loss of their seating position. You will be notified by the phone tree if there is a cancellation due to weather. Rehearsal is not necessarily cancelled when schools are closed. Emergency contact number is 303-800-4597 .

black skirt or dress slacks, black shoes and hose. TUITION Tuition for the Chamber Orchestra is $315 per year for the 2007-2008 season. Tuition for the Training Orchestra and Intermediate Orchestra is $265 per year for the 2007-2008 season. All registration materials and fees are due in the Littleton Youth Symphony office by September 10th. Returned checks are subject to a $15 processing fee. |
